Abstract
Tepe Gheshlagh is located in the center of Talvar Valley in Bijar County, on the east bank of River Talvar. Tepe Gheshlagh is one of the major sites with deposits of the Chalcolithic period within the prospective reservoir of the Talvar Dam. The absolute lack of earlier excavations with particular emphasis on the Chalcolithic period in the region further highlights the significance of the recent works at Gheshlagh. the Layer of Chalcolithic evidence of metallurgy was obtained in the form of several pieces of copper objects, which were tested by XDX and XRD Analysis in order to identify their elements and compositions. Ancient metallurgy is one of the most important cultural processes that has been carried out since the Fifth millennium BC in the eastern slopes of Central Zagros. In this regard, the metal samples obtained from the archaeological excavations of Gheshlagh were subjected to elemental analysis. The purpose of this article is to examine the copper of Gheshlagh to identify the structural differences by XRD and EDX methods and to present the results of laboratory studies. The production of the above objects has been done using the molding method. The results of the analysis of the parts indicate the use of copper base metal with a high percentage. The presence of silver in a completely separate phase in the sample along with sulfur is probably impurities from the ore that entered the sample during extraction.the results of the analysis showed that the samples had a lot of corrosion and were severely damaged.
