Constant changes in the water level of the Caspian Sea has become one of the most important factors in the emergence of a number of historic ships on its southern coast. Archaeological excavations at the historic ship Ghorogh revealed that the ship belonged to the first half of the 18th century and was built in Tsarist Russia using Russian coniferous timber, and then in maritime trade between the Iranian ports of Anzali or Karganrood with ports.
