Abstract
Constant changes in the water level of the Caspian Sea has become one of the most important factors in the emergence of a number of historic ships on its southern coast. Some of these wooden vessels have been identified off the coast of Neka in the east of Mazandaran province, Chamkhaleh and Talesh in Gilan province and recently a larger vessel has been identified in Ashrafieh threshold, but little is known about the structure, timber, construction site, ownership and dating of these ships in Not available. Archaeological excavations at the historic ship Ghorogh revealed that the ship belonged to the first half of the 18th century and was built in Tsarist Russia using Russian coniferous timber, and then in maritime trade between the Iranian ports of Anzali or Karganrood with ports. The Russians have been on the move like Estrakhan or Badkoobeh. The structure of the ship, twenty-seven meters long and six meters wide, is very strong and voluminous and includes four layers of longitudinal and transverse timber as the ship's skeleton and the outer and inner layers of the slab. The historical ship Ghorogh is a semi-longitudinal vessel of a large vessel located on the sandy shore of Ghorogh village, a short distance from the sea. The upper parts of the ship were destroyed and the lower parts, including the hull, the shank, the heel and the base of the main sail of the ship, remained. The structure of the historical ship Ghorooq is comparable to the shipwrecks on the shores of Chamkhaleh, Neka and Astaneh Ashrafieh, which can indicate the synchronicity of these historical vessels.
